C5Lab Leads Work Package 5 in the DISCOVER Horizon Project

C5Lab took part in the review meeting of the DISCOVER Horizon project, held on 28 January in Brussels, reinforcing its active role in the development of solutions for a more circular and sustainable construction sector in Europe.

C5Lab was represented on site by Francisco Capucha, Project Manager, and online by Margarida Mateus, Executive Director of C5Lab, Melissa Bacatelo, LCA and European Projects Coordinator, and Maria Ana Benoliel, Researcher.

During the meeting, the strategic planning of Work Package 5 (WP5) was presented, for which C5Lab will assume leadership, together with its key objectives, focused on the valorisation of demolition assets and the efficient use of secondary materials in the construction sector.

The objectives of WP5 include:

• Ensuring the technical and value-chain conditions for the use of demolition-derived assets
• Developing a digital decision-support tool
• Creating a digital catalogue
• Defining a tracking system

The DISCOVER Horizon project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme, is working to transform the way we address the end-of-life of buildings, developing innovative solutions that promote circular economy principles, sustainability and resource efficiency in the construction sector.
